Prince Of Persia Sands Of Time

Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time is a popular title in the franchise of the same name, envisioned in 3D landscape and Asian inspired soundtrack. I Live Streamed this game at my Wycoconut Gaming Channel a while back, and just thought I would share what I think about the game after replaying it again in 2020. Its a pretty old game (released in October 28, 2003) but the in game puzzles are still challenging to most action-platform gamers. The PS3 version has added HD enhancements to the game, and those who played it on the PS2 will certainly have a blast.

Prince Of Persia Sands Of Time Stream Summary

Its Spring Clean Sunday in the House Of Wycoconut…

My dad always says : Make sure you take those electronic devices and spin it up once in a while to keep it in working condition! Yep, dusted the good old PS3 (and game titles) and replaying an old classic today.

Fired Up the PS3 and loaded up the Prince Of Persia Trilogy Game Disc, and prayed very hard that my PS3 still works fine despite being retired for almost 4 years now (I got my PS4 around that time, so yeah).

As I was checking out the stream status, some Indian Theme music played on in my waiting screen… really brings on the Deepavali mood all of the sudden. To my Malaysian fans & friends : Betul rasa nak makan muruku!

And off we go with our “Prince Of Persia Sands Of Time” gaming session!

Started off with some backstory on how I got my PS3 (didn’t buy it in Malaysia) and a little backstory about my time working in Dubai. Sometime back I also shared the fact that I didn’t own a Playstation 2 (actually it was my brother’s kit) so technically its my first Playstation console. Ha!

Its been a while that I played this game since the first time I touched Prince Of Persia Sands Of Time many many many years ago (it was released in Nov 2003 for the PlayStation 2). Being so used to the PS4 DualShock controller and switching back to the PS3 controller does take a bit to get used to (the triangle-square-circle-cross buttons are a few more millimeters apart).

When it comes to the storyline… it feels that I have played it before (but I can’t remember I finshed it or not) and totally forgot about the Zombies part until I got to the second in-game movie.

Managed to reach 24% into the gameplay (and not mention a few puzzle fails in between as well) 😅😅 I have seen others on YouTube that fan finish Prince Of Persia Sands Of Time in probably 4.5 hours if you are really really good. Look for YouTube videos of Complete Playthroughs!

Gotta love zombies especially this time of the month. Killing 2 birds with one stone this stream has, now I don’t have to think of what to stream for Halloween! (Just kidding, I did prepare some Halloween themed games in the week LOL)
Around halfway through the game, I also shared the challenges of connecting a PS3 to a game capture device “though normal conventional methods” (doesn’t connect like how easy a PS4 can) and shared what most people will buy to workaround the issue. So those with PS3, fret not, you can still do a nice game streaming marathon gig on Facebook.

Why Prince Of Persia is still my favorite game, is basically simple : it has a fair amount of action and puzzle that fits in a believable story. Some of you might argue that Zombies are not technically believable, but its good entertainment nonetheless, right???

If it wasn’t for Prince Of Persia, we wouldn’t have so many other great titles that took the idea forward, like God Of War, Lara Croft, Uncharted, Batman, Spider-Man. Hurrah for the original version (I played a little of this much earlier in my streaming days) that totally changed my Single Player Game Preference until today.

P/S : Ubisoft is going to create a remake of this title called “Prince Of Persia The Sands Of Time Remake”. Are you as excited as I am about a remake in the horizon (original planned release date is on January 22, 2021, but got delayed twice, it will be released around Early 2022) ? Check out the teaser video for the time being.
